Using Find My Mobile Service to track a lost phone
How to Track a Lost Samsung Galaxy Phone Using Find My Mobile
If you've lost your Samsung Galaxy phone, you can track its location, lock it remotely, or make it ring using the Find My Mobile service, which is now integrated into SmartThings Find. This feature works across Samsung Galaxy devices, including phones, tablets, and wearables, provided they are powered on, connected to the internet, and signed in to your Samsung account.
1. How to Use Find My Mobile to Track a Lost Phone
- Open the SmartThings Find app on another Samsung Galaxy device or visit the Find My Mobile website.
- Sign in with the same Samsung account used on the lost device.
- Select the lost device from the list of registered devices.
- Choose one of the following actions:
- Track Location: View the device's current location on a map.
- Lock: Remotely lock the device to prevent unauthorized access.
- Ring: Make the device ring at maximum volume for one minute, even if it's on silent mode.
2. What to Do If Find My Mobile Doesn't Work
If you're unable to track your lost device using Find My Mobile, ensure the following conditions are met:
- The device is powered on and has an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
- The device is signed in to your Samsung account.
- Location services are enabled on the device.
- The Find My Mobile feature was enabled before the device was lost.
3. Supported Samsung Galaxy Devices
Find My Mobile (SmartThings Find) is compatible with most Samsung Galaxy devices, including:
- Galaxy S24, S25, and S26 series
- Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series
- Galaxy A series
- Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Watch devices
4. Additional Things to Check
If the lost device still doesn't appear in SmartThings Find, try the following:
- Ensure the device is within range of a Wi-Fi network or cellular signal.
- Check if the device's battery is sufficiently charged to maintain connectivity.
- Verify that the device hasn't been factory reset, which would erase your Samsung account information.
